Tennis doubles:Federer treasured! Will gold end gremlin?

August 17th, 2008

Swiss team characterized by discipline and respect gave gold medals to Switzerland. Mainly, it was all about Federer who finally feels victorious, and was in need of a conquest to kick off the jinx.

Wawrinka, Federer’s mate also contributed in the win; at some points he was even better than the former world’s rank leader.

Swedish competitors, Simon Aspelin and Thomas Johansson didn’t have much to do, under the Swiss influence and fortitude of duo Federer-Wawrinka.

Federer, unusually roaring and yelling with every earned point, was clearly focused and willing to shoot gold.

After hitting their aim, Roger hugged his play partner Wawrinka in what seemed like an endless embrace after the final match point; a way to show gratitude for the help in a VICTOIRE of 6-3  6-4  6-7  6-3.

After all, Swiss star owed a big part of the victory to his less-known partner, and made that clear on TV sets and in the stadium, while sports news were always circling about the 5 years leader who couldn’t deny being grateful towards his colleague’s sweat and responsibility.

Bronze medals were earned by the Bryan brothers. Bob and Mike over came the French team 3-6  6-3  6-4

Grand semi-final: Nadal and Djokovic

August 16th, 2008

Spaniard reigns! After the finals day, he will be on top of the world’s ranking, over coming Federer and a long list of stars…. Simply, he is the best!

As his dominance continues, Sir Rafael took out Djokovic out of his face, in his hike towards the golden medal.

In an impressive game of talent, experience and willpower, Djokovic couldn’t do better than 6-4 1-6 6-4 against this season 7 times rewarded player, in which 2 major events are included: Wimbledon and French open

Nadal who has already beaten number 2 and 3, is considered as the ultimate favorite to win Beijing’s gold medal.

Betting sites and windows are crowded, with betting fans placing their expectations and odds on the line. As for the fans, the stadium’s tickets are already sold out; you can still watch it on TV or on the sports news.

Federer is still confident: doubles’ victory

August 16th, 2008

Apparently his loss in the singles tournament didn’t affect him, proving once again that ranking 1st along 4 and half years isn’t just a coincidence.

In the duo game, along with Stanislan Wawrinka, Federer showed an unusual talent, which was really appreciated by the ticketed crowds, applauding and cheering in what looked like a motivation for the elder leader in international ranking.

The Swiss pair will face Sweden’s experts Simon Aspelin and Thomas Johansson. A game that’s expected to be easy for the best ranked Swiss team, despite the fact that Simon and Thomas’ physical status is weaker after their last 4 hours and 45 minutes’ game.

Betting sites and sports news are pointing at Federer’s urgent must to win a gold medal. Despite insuring a silver medal, the world champion sheds light on the fact that he is a WINNER.

Williams sisters gone with the wind: Serena leaves 1st

August 15th, 2008

In what we label as “terrible” day for the favorites and categorize it into an extra stunning daytime for bet eager individuals, and after almost 30 minutes from taking Federer out of the way in men games, it was Serena Williams’ turn to leave the singles, in Beijing’s tennis tournament.

3-6 6-4 6-3 were enough for Elena Dementieva to dribble around Serena and move on to the next level of the competition.

Elena’s main stimulus was her silver medal in Australia’s 2000 games.

Now that Serena is out, Dementieva looks like a good place to but a bet. After all, Beijing games have been full of confounding results leaving no place for expectations or odds: new talents are flying high, as many favorites keep sinking.

Federer is out!!! Casualty of rainy weather, or something deeper?

August 15th, 2008

His bet was to get to the finals, or at least to face Nadal for a revenge game, here in Beijing, to overcome his loss in the Wimbledon tournament. Every Tennis fan was betting on a final game, joining the 2 best players in the world.

Unfortunately, these odds seemed too hard to reach, after a night full of stress, anger and rainfall, where Federer, the world’s number 1 was eliminated by the American James Blake

The US player, who came crushing all Federer’s hopes of a medal in the tennis singles game, also defied every part of the expectations in the sports betting sites and windows. If the leader of the rank wants to stand on a podium in Beijing, his determination will have to be much stronger in the doubles games.

6-4  7-6(2) were the final score in a game that was played 3 and a half hours late, and ending in the early hours of the morning, not to mention that the precipitation of water was doing  a damage after another and letting Federer to drown.

Federer: Yesss! Berdych, you are out!

August 14th, 2008

After loosing against Berdych in the 2nd round of Athens 2004, Federer joined all of his powers, setting 1 plan ahead of him, which is to beat Berdych in a revenge game here in Beijing.

In what he considered a real test, Federer seemed really excited to win every point, sending Yesss and punching the air, or making gestures with his fist. The world ranking leader, is willing to face Nadal in the finals, in what would be a vengeance game, knowing that world number 1 failed to beat Nadal, and came 2nd in Wimbledon.

6-3  7-6(4) was the score of the game, allowing Federer to reach the quarters. Still a long way to go, but the world champion is definitely single-minded about winning the game.
