Rafael Nadal, seeded 2nd in the world ranking, qualified to the quarter finals, after beating Russian Igor Andreev: 6-4 6-2, in a fully packed stadium, where tickets were sold out. The Spanish player felt comfortable during the game, and ended it with a winning service in set 2, after leading 4-0.
Nadal is predetermined to reach the Olympics’ finals, and is very confident after winning this year’s French open and Wimbledon’s tournament. Rafael is expected to play against Federer in the finals on Sunday, for the gold medal. In an after game interview, Nadal looked so confident of climbing to No. 1 in the world rankings this Sunday, and end the 4 years and half of sovereignty in the name of Roger Federer.
