Blogging live from the 2008 Summer Olympics Games in Beijing PEKIN China.
Safina gave it all, with nothing to lose; she had the privilege to get in a head to head with the world’s leader, Elena Jankovic.
Jankovic’s injury was unquestionably behind her lack of performance, making Safina look good in the game. Wounded number 1 said that no one expects a win, with a problem flying around, like she was pointing towards her calf grievance and the injections that she was getting.
6-2 5-7 6-3, is it a clear demonstration of Safina’s domination over the game, or on Jankovic’s damage?
Personally, I’d bet that if Jankovic were up to the level physically, the odds would’ve been much different.
Dianara Safina’s qualification to the semi-finals puts her in face of the Chinese idol Li Na in an expected to be a very close game, and a promising match for TV viewers and sports betting devotees. Tickets are sold out for these last turns of women tennis tournament in Beijing; TV is always available!
