Untainted European styled game, as Croatia faced  Russia in a close game. Croatian Marko Popovic, demonstrated a high scaled style of leadership achieving 22 points, supported by the 20 points of the 1.98m  Zoran Planinic .

Russia, known as the Champion of Europe, was not able to stop to Croatian attack, as organized as the defensive tactic, giving way to a Croatian success in Beijing.
