It seems that Yao Ming’s suffering from Chinese sports news will not be over soon, blaming the NBA center of Houston Rockets and pointing at him as a disappointing out-performer.

Chinese Nation betting on Yao’s domination under the opponent’s baskets was surprised to see their local team struggle to go through into the quarter finals, after a very bad show in the 1st round.

Lithuania, leader of group A in preliminaries and a favorite of playing the final game didn’t have much difficulty during the 40 minutes. The European team eased itself by taking the lead since the beginning, growing a difference of 9 points at the break, and increasing it to 26 dots within the final whistle while sending the Dragons out of the tournament.

Beijing’s semi-final is Lithuania’s 5th final 4

In a row

3rd quarter was the game’s turning point as they broke free scoring and taking advantage of 2nd chances while the Chinese defense was unorganized at all. Despite Yao’s 19 points and 7 boards, Lithuania’s team-play on offense was bringing down the China wall of giants, not to mention the long range shots of Sarunas rimming in  5 out of 6 and leading the scoring sheet by 23.

Downtown attempts:

Lithuania averaged 42% (13/31)

China averaged 19% (4/21)

2 points trials:

66% for Lithuania

47% for China

Lithuania’s triumph today, settles a European semi-final against Spain. Spanish line up is trying to preserve its image of world champions what makes the game promising and intense. Sports news in Spain are putting a lot of pressure on their national team, that earlier in preliminaries was facing severe critics due to their humiliating loss against the USA. Lithuania’s bid will be on stopping Pau’s domination, as a key to winning while the Spaniards’ concern will be the coverage of their 3 points lane.

Odds and expectations are wide open with both teams capable of creating “bolt from the blue” and playing for Beijing’s gold! Basketball tickets are on the way of being sold out, while some grapevines mentionned black marketing!

“Spanish Train” into the Semis, beating Croatia

August 20th, 2008

World cup winners Spain had to win this game against Croatia, to preserve their image and to move on into the semi-finals. What was bid on to be an intense and close basketball game, turned into a complete dominance for the Spaniards (12-1 run in 1st quarter), leading in the 4 quarters and winning at the end 72-59.

Spain’s players just bought the 1st basketball ticket into the semi-final game of the tournament here in Beijing’s Olympics, led by Pau Gasol’s 20 points and 20 rebounds.

Rebounding was in favor of the world champions (36-29), clearly jumping higher on defensive and offensive recoveries, allowing them to score many points under the basket, not to mention the 3 pointers; Juan Calderon made 2 out of 2 before being substituted, a growing injury that compelled the coach to replace him. Despite the Spanish worries of their team mate’s spoil, they kept on focusing on their game, taking advantage of the pre-built score difference.

Croatia’s betting on 3 points shots aimed to dislocate the Spanish defense under the basket, but with their razor-sharp shooter Marko Popovic on the injury list, every long range shot was twisting away

Croatia made 26% (5 of 19 shots) from long range,

And a field goals average of 38%

At the final shrill, Spain’s basketball jerseys celebrated jumping into the semi finals, to play against Lithuania.

In a TV interview ahead of this basketball game, Pau was asked about the match with the Dream team, where Spain was fiercely destroyed, giving the sports news a delight story to talk about. The NBA star Gasol said that he is over it now, and that his team wasn’t up to their usual level, assuring all the Spanish fans that if a 2nd game against the USA was to be played, it will definitely have a different scenario. A bidding that looks a little bit provocative from the Spanish star, maybe a message to the Dream team from a side, and to the fans of betting to think twice before picking a side on the betting panels or on sports betting sites.

W. Basketball: USA’s Feminine crusade unstoppable!!!

August 19th, 2008

Korea was really determined, realizing that they can’t win, thus they played very well in the 1st quarter: 25-21 with a high percentage of 59% in field goals. However, the 2nd and 3rd quarters were very damaging to the Koreans, by being held in each of the 2 shifts to 9 points only, while US scored 26 in each to pull up the difference to 38 dots, with 1 quarter remaining.

Last part of the game was set on 27-21 with a good Korean performance to say goodbye for The Olympics.

Sylvia Fowles who was leading her team today, ended the game with a balance of 26 points and 14 rebounds (8 offensives); it was an emotional occasion for Fowles to let her team mates realize that she’s here, and she’s back on top after the knee’s injury.

USA jerseys’ victory tonight is the 31st in a row, in Olympic Games. In Beijing’s tournament, Yankees are winning with an average of 43 points.

America should meet Australia in the final…a game as much awaited for fans, as  for bet lovers to start their gamble, at the same time as this event is already all over the Sports betting sites and sports news. With both teams having one step further to reach the gold medal, the USA basketball jerseys will face Spain in the semi finals; a game mostly anticipated by coach Anne Donovan, considering this match as the best test for finals in Beijing.

Argentina in the final game disgracing Brazil!! Is Messi the best player in the world?

August 19th, 2008

Absolutely, Messi’s game, 3 goals to none !!!!!

Both teams with 4 to 5 defenders guarding the goal close “man to man” double team on Lionel Messi and a closely guarded Ronaldinho.goal.com

Argentina and Brazil are both watching over the other’s winning keys now in order to cuff later. Almost 70% of the half was being played in midfield, with a slight advantage to the tango boys, who seemed to be a bit more special on the personal skills level

Blue and white striped jerseys are delivering every ball to Messi, who manages the distribution and planning, aided by Riquelme, the holder of legendary number 10, that once belonged to Diego Armando Maradona, who by the way, was in the VIP section applauding his national  players.

As for Brazilian coach Dunga who was betting on keeping Pato on the bench seats as an additional weapon to use in the last minutes, it was definitely a tensed period with Argentina missing on 2 dangerous occasions.

Brazil had its turn too, but always lacking in number of attackers to finish the ball, and such was the case for the Tangos. As mentioned before, both Southern betting on defense to launch a successful attack.

Brazil has the best offensive line up in

Beijing’s Olympics with 11 goals, and

The best defense with 0 goals brought home

In all 4 games played.

The 2nd half was a disaster for the Selacao despite the multitude of substitutions, with an obviously better Tango team, scoring 3 goals, to end the yellow crawl towards gold, and to add a new humiliation on Dunga’s team, that had been heavily criticized in the press and sports news.

Pounding all odds and expectations, Argentina’s appetite for scoring was endless, Aguero hitting in the opening (52nd minute), doubled the score 5 minutes later.

Selacao selection unable to stop Messi’s danger along with Riquelme and friends, earned 2 red cards after Riquelme’s penalty (3rd goal-78th minute) coming to finish over the hopes of Ronaldinho who can still fight for a bronze medal.

Nigeria plays for gold! Is 1996 back?

August 19th, 2008

The stadium was trembling, under the screams and cheers of supporters. Crazy atmosphere was a great set up for a crazy game. Belgium was bidding on her defensive walls that have already beaten Italy’s offensive forces, while Nigeria’s bet was all around its international players.

1st half witnessed a Crowdie defensive line up on the European side, but no one was really marking an opponent. Missing out on the man to man strategy cost them an early goal by Adefemi in 17th minute. As the teams went into relaxation, sports news was already reminding the readers and TV viewers of Nigeria’s 1996 team that won the gold in Atlanta.

As the 2nd half was whistled on, everyone was betting on an attacking Belgium, unlike in the 1st part, but if you want to place a bet, you’d rather think twice!! Nigeria kept on controlling the midfield and its attacks were about to turn into half a dozen goals; luckily the European goal keeper was always there, to do what his defenders wouldn’t do!!

Poor defensive display by Belgium cost them 3 more goals in 30 minutes. Ogbuke scored Nigeria’s second and third hits in minutes 59 and 72, while Africa’s star Okonokwo stroke Belgs with a 4th goal of pure talent, with 12 minutes remaining.

Being in lead, Africans were just pushing away the ball from their area keeping it safe, with an unorganized and clearly nervous attacking from Belgium, desperate for a goal and earning a free kick that was transformed into a clean hit in the 88th minute by Ciman, saving what’s left of the honor and pride.

Nigeria will face the winner of Brazil’s game with Argentina, in a superb dual that will be seen on TV by millions around the world. It is jam period in Sport betting sites, while bidding panels’ employees are ordering more sheets and ink to print on!

Will youth beat experience in semi-finals? Jeffries Vs Egan

August 19th, 2008

Tony Jeffries faces Kenny Egan in semi finals after beating and out performing his opponent Imre Szello of hungry. Taking the lead in all 3 rounds, Tony ended the game with 10-2, leaving behind the quarter finals, and focusing on the semis.

Fighting like a destroying machine, he was too strong for the Hungarian who stood all along the 4 rounds.

Despite his 23 years of age, Tony Jeffries looks like a promising talent for the future of the game, mainly for team Britain who will be betting on his success in his next game against the Irish Kenny Egan.

Notice that Egan is the silver medalist of the European championship in 2006, and with tons of experience and power, the rewarded wouldn’t give the youth British an easy game, especially that they reached the last 2 stages before wearing gold in Beijing! A game of risk for both players and for betting fans is impatiently awaited; it will set the ticket holder of the final game!

W. Basketball: scorching Miao registers locals in semi finals

August 19th, 2008

getty imagesCaptain Miao was unstoppable, pulling 28 points in a game high, where Belarus was beaten. The White Russia’s dream is now over, and the march is halted toward the semi-finals.

At the final whistle, it was 77-62, a game score in which China’s dominance was ruling all along the game especially after out-rebounding the ladies of Belarus.

As some sports news talked about it as a bombshell result beating all odds, some mentioned that China’s victory was a winning bet against their European opponents, taking the groups standing as a backbone for their analysis.

Dragon nation’s last medal (silver) in women’s basketball was earned back in 1992 in Barcelona after losing the final game in favor of the Soviet Union.

China will more likely mug the Aussies in semi-final, if the Kangaroo ladies over-come New Zealand. That definitely is a gamble that I’m willing to make on sport betting sites; you can’t deny the glorious performance of the Opals who are bidding on a final game against USA.

China’s fans are counting on a shocker that could pull their nation into the finals; they just need to beat a “favorite to win” in women’s basketball in Beijing

Featherweight: Li Yang outclassed!!! Vasyl Lomachenko into the semi finals

August 19th, 2008

Li Yang was out-scored earlier today by Ukraine’s silver medalist in Athens. 12-3 was the final count in favor of the tournament’s favorite in Beijing: Vasyl who had beaten both the world champion and all the expectations posted by sports betting sites since the 1st round, qualified on behalf of the Albert Selimov.

In the final 4, Ukraine’s boxer will face Yakup Kilic in a game that decides who will have a ticket into final game in chase of the gold medal.

Bantamweight: Thai Petchkoom apologizes to his nation and father

August 18th, 2008

Unable to dominate the Cuban Yankiel Leon, Thailand’s silver medalist of Athens had to face 2 fights; 1 boxing game against Cuba’s ultimate defender, and a 2nd emotional stress because of his father’s cancer!

Thai boy was completely out of the game losing 10-2, with plenty of things in head, it was hard for him to focus on his game.

He later on stood tall on TV, apologizing for deceiving his nation’s dream of coming back with a medal, mentioning his failing in making the sick father proud!

Worapoj Petchkoom tears and sensitivity were all over the sports news after seeing his dream fly away!

Super heavyweight: Bright Zhang Zilei pledges a Chinese medal

August 18th, 2008

Asian giant Zhang guaranteed a medal for China after beating all expected odds, against Ruslan Myrsatayev of Kazakhstan, out scoring him by 12-2. The Chinese, who had a slight advantage of 6 inches of height, cherished the crowds that were as happy as their local’s dominance over his opponent.

Ruslan’s coach who was furious after the game, accused the judges of dishonesty and counting in favor of the local player declaring that Zhang wouldn’t match Ruslan outside of China! Amri added that his player played against 6: 1 opponent and 5 umpires.

He held TV sets and sports news responsibility of being the bystander of what happened during the game.

The Chinese big guy will next play the world silver medalist, Vyacheslav Glazkov in a game that’s much anticipated by fans and betting sites.

Notice that boxing and wrestling are both facing massive objections from foreign teams, all complaining from bad moderation.

This doesn’t upset only the fans, but is also affecting the sports betting, putting China’s good image in the Olympics into questioning!
